West have dropped an awesome suit that combines innovation with comfort and style. When the new Air-O showed up I was instantly attracted to the look of the suit. It's stealth black streamlined design looks sharp, and with very placed logo's the suit looks dope. I haven't had a lot to do with WEST wetsuits in the past, but with this new Air-O I think WEST are onto a sleek new design idea.
While style is important in wetsuits, the main focus is on warmth and comfort, all of which the West Lotus Air-O has nailed. This season I've been lucky enough to review a number of different wetties and the new West Lotus Air-O is definitely one of the top players in the rubber market.
The Air-O material combines three layers of 1mm Neoprene bonded together with the middle layer in a honey comb construction, creating small pockets of air. These small pockets are quickly heated up by the body, adding to the thermal properties of the neoprene while making the Lotus Air-O lighter and more flexible. It's like wearing a suit that looks like the outside of a golf ball which is feakishly cool. (I find myself just rubbing up and down the suit when out in the lineup like a filthy pervert. It just has that crazy feel about it, not to mention it looks horn.)
